A Few Resources

Hi folks,

Great discussion (and great work) in class yesterday. I wanted to just toss out a few resources, in case folks are interested.

If you liked the Izzard and wanted to watch more, the clip we watched was from his 1998 show Dress to Kill. He has lots of shows, though, many of which touch on themes of interest to our class. You may investigate here:

And if you're in Australia in November, you can see him live!

Also: I mentioned at the end of class that I am more than happy to write for you to gain access to the Kinsey Institute in Bloomington Indiana, if you'd like to take advantage of their one-of-a-kind archives for research for this class. This is a world-renowned institute and not too far away, so if you're interested, it's a great opportunity. I've spoken with the library to figure out the procedure for access, so if anyone IS interested, let me know when you can, and we'll talk further about the steps to take.

The Kinsey has a wonderful collection of odds and ends, personal papers, and art, film, pop culture items, etc, all related to gender, sexuality, and reproduction. The stacks are closed, which means that you cannot browse this library, but there is a reading room and viewing rooms where you can use the materials for research. Materials do not circulate, so research must be done there. If you're interested in what the Kinsey has to offer, please check out their website and search their catalog:

Alright--that's all for now! Hope you all have a great rest of the week/weekend, and I'll see you Monday for discussion of Butler and Foucault.

Best,
Dr. Renzi
